COOL WEATHER CUT FILES
USING Jumping In Puddles
Posted on 18 August, 2023
Hello everyone!
It’s time for some Autumn crafting so today we’re sharing some amazing cut file creations using items from the versatile Jumping In Puddles collection.
Jumping in Puddles has been one of our most popular collections ever! Maybe its the muted colours and the contrasting deep navy? Maybe it’s the beautiful florals and autumn leaves diecuts? Maybe it’s the ADORABLE forest creatures? One thing is for sure, every single handmade card, scrapbook page, tag & embellishments that we’ve seen crafted with this collection make us go WOW!
You can find both of our Autumn cut files in our shop: Umbrella with Raindrops and Hearts, and a Wreath of Leaves. Both cut files speak for themselves so you don’t need a tonne of complicated techniques or embellishments to make a really gorgeous page.
First let’s take a look at the simple and stunning 12 x 12″ Umbrella layout from our Brand Ambassador, Diane Williams (@dearlydee)
You can have so much fun mixing papers to back this umbrella design. Diane kept her umbrella and page design simple but added real flair with the her stitched “raindrops”. That stitching ties together what’s happening outdoors – the rain – with the photos which tell the story of what’s happening indoors – cuddles with her cat on the couch.
Instead of raindrops, Diane has used cosy little pieces from the Cardstock Diecut Ephemera. Did you see the reading (or Netflix) glasses, little beanie beanie, and scented candle? She also added some heart-shaped Enamel Dots.
Diane used the Puffy Alphabet Stickers to create her title. It’s such an amazing set of letters and numbers and the glossiness makes a nice contrast. One sheet of stickers is a beautiful deep navy blue, while the 2nd sheet has a smaller sized letters in 6 different colours which is super handy, and looks great when used together.
Next we’ve got another cool-weather 12x 12″ scrapbook layout from our in-house crafter, Lissa (@lissascraftyplace) using our second Jumping In Puddles cut file – Wreath of Leaves.
As the weather starts to cool, Autumn can seem a bit grey and dull. But it’s also a time of year that has so much to celebrate and be thankful for – Back to School, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Lissa decided that her layout would show off all the joy this time of year can bring.
Lissa left some leaves open, and backed others with different 12 x 12″ Papers. Once she had placed her wrath in a central position, the next step was to fill the space under the wreath with individual leaves to achieve a really lush effect.
Even more dimension was added with a few leaves from the cardstock diecuts which were tucked under the ring of the wreath and folded upwards. After that, all that was needed were a couple of diecut sentiments and this layout was done! Easy peasy!
Our last cut file project is a handmade card was crafted by our Guest Designer Danielle Miller (@shimmerlife) using the Umbrella cut file.
Cut files can be resized to fit smaller projects like handmade cards and mini albums. After backing her umbrella with a single colour paper, and cutting the raindrops out of different colour paper, she adhered the them to the front of her card which she had covered with 12 x 12″ paper. The final touch was this diecut sentiment.
This card would be perfect for so many occasions – birthdays, friendship, Thanksgiving.
Thanks so much for taking a look. Make sure to check out our other cut files and the rest of the Jumping In Puddles collection in our shop.
