Shaker hoops
by Alice Wilks
Our Brand Ambassador Alice Wilks always makes such fun projects.
Check out these super-easy shaker embellishments using the You Make My Day collection.
When Alice saw the adorable chipboard frames in the You Make My Day collection she knew they would be perfect for making shaker embellishments. Having a ready-made frame makes this project so easy. Onnce you’ve assembled your shakers you can add them to handmade cards, scrapbook layouts, and gift tags or sent as happy mail to a pen pal.
First you’ll need 2 circles of acetate that you’ve cut to match the size of your chipboard frame. Use glue to stick the edges of the two circles together but leave a gap unglued so the 2 sides form a pocket.
Pour your sequins/ sprinkles into the pocket between the two layers of acetate. Then continue to glue the 2 sides of acetate together to close your pocket.
Peel the adhesive backing from the back of the Chipboard Frame, and stick the shaker firmly into place.
Now the fun part is personalising your shakers using various embellishments. Alice has used Chipboard Embellishments from the You Make My Day collection, but you could use a variety of dicecut ephemera, puffy stickers, and so on.
Items in this project: You Make My Day Chipboard Frames 12pk/ Chipboard Embellishments 2 sheets.
You’re also going to need some acetate sheets (check out your craft or stationery store) as well as some sequins or sprinkles to make this project.
